These questions will help students test critical thinking and decision-making skills.
6. 30% weightage for constructed response type questions - There will be fewer short and long-answer questions and more competency-based questions.

CBSE Class 11th Biology Exam Pattern 2025
CBSE Class 11th Biology question paper will have five sections - Section A, Section B, Section C, Section D, and Section E. In section A, each question will be for one mark, and the number of questions will be 16. Section B has 5 questions, each question for two marks, while Section C has 7 questions and each question is for three marks, section D has 2 questions and each question is for four marks, while Section E has three questions, each question is for 5 marks.
Nature of questions in CBSE 11th Biology
In CBSE class 11th, knowledge-based questions will get 10%, comprehension questions will get 30%, applications will get 30%, high-order thinking skills will get 17% and evaluation will get 13% weightage.
Chapter-wise weightage in CBSE 11th Biology
If we talk about CBSE class 11th Biology chapter-wise weightage 2025, then there will be questions for 15 marks from Diversity of Living Organism, 10 marks from Structural Organization in Plant and Animal, 15 marks from Cell-Structural and Function, 12 marks from Plant Psychology and 18 marks from Human Psychology.
