UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had recently got a girl from Moradabad admitted to an expensive private school. A girl named Vachi had lodged her complaint in the Chief Minister's Janata Milan program in Lucknow. After this, the Chief Minister had instructed the officials to get Vachi admitted. A few hours later, Vachi was admitted to an expensive school in Moradabad for free under the Low Income Group (EWS) quota. The process for admission in this quota has also started in Delhi. The Directorate of Education has recently issued a circular in this regard, under which Delhi-based parents will be able to get their children admitted to private schools under the EWS quota. Let us understand this in detail…

Admission in classes above class 2
The Directorate of Education has issued an order to start the admission process from the EWS quota in private schools in Delhi. The special thing is that this process is being started for admission from the EWS quota in classes above class 2 in private schools. The Directorate of Education has clarified that this application process has been started for admission in vacant EWS seats in classes above class 2 in private schools operating on land allotted by DDA or the government. The Directorate starts the application process in February for admission from the EWS quota in pre-primary classes.

The application has to be done online, and admission on vacant seats.
The application process has started for admission in EWS seats in classes above class 2 in private schools of Delhi. Eligible and interested parents can apply online by visiting the official website of the Directorate of Education, Education Department, to get their children admitted. The Directorate has clarified that children will be admitted only on vacant seats of the EWS quota in classes above class 2 in private schools built on DDA or government land.

25 percent of seats reserved in pre-primary
Actually, under the Right to Education Act 2009, 25 percent of seats are reserved in private schools for children of the EWS quota. These 25 percent of seats are reserved in pre-primary classes. For example, private schools give admission in pre-primary classes on 25 percent of the seats under the EWS quota. After getting admission, children can study for free till the 8th standard, but after the court order in Delhi, private schools give admission in classes above class 2 through the EWS quota.
