This is good news for thousands of parents in Delhi who want to educate their children in good private schools but cannot afford the fees due to financial constraints. Like every year, the Delhi government is going to start the admission process for Nursery, KG, and Class 1 under the EWS quota in private schools. It is expected that the application dates will be announced soon.
Therefore, parents must understand all the information and prepare the necessary documents in advance to avoid any problems during the application process. This initiative by the Delhi government brings relief to families who cannot afford the cost of education in expensive private schools due to financial difficulties. The EWS quota provides these children with an opportunity to receive a good education. The selection process under this scheme is completely transparent to ensure that there is no discrimination.
How will the EWS admission process work?
The entire admission process under the EWS quota will be online. Parents will have to apply through the official website of the Delhi Directorate of Education (DoE). They will first need to register online in the section related to EWS/DG/Freeship Admissions on the website.
After completing the registration, they will log in and fill out the application form. They will have to provide the necessary information about the child and parents and upload the required documents. Since the application process is completely digital, parents will not need to visit any school.
Which classes are eligible for application?
Under this scheme, applications are accepted for admission to Nursery, KG (LKG/UKG), and Class 1 in private schools. The application dates usually fall in February or March. Therefore, parents are advised to regularly check the Directorate of Education website for any important updates. Documents Required for Application
When applying for EWS admission, certain important documents are required. It is crucial to have these ready in advance. These include the child's birth certificate, identity proof of the parents or guardian (Aadhaar card, Voter ID, etc.), proof of residence in Delhi, income certificate, and passport-size photographs of the child and parents. If the child falls under the Children with Special Needs (CWSN) category, a disability certificate will also be required.
