Delhi University’s Vice Chancellor Internship Scheme (VCIS) 2025-26 is moving closer to finalizing the selection of interns. Over 3,500 applications were received for the program, out of which 2,280 students were shortlisted for further selection rounds.
Group Discussion Round Completed
The shortlisted students participated in group discussion rounds from 13 to 15 October 2025, which have now been successfully concluded. The Dean of Student Welfare, Prof. Ranjan Kumar Tripathi, informed that the university administration will soon release the final list of selected candidates. He assured students that they will not have to wait much longer for the results.
The VCIS is designed to provide students with practical exposure to university administration, helping them gain insight into leadership, communication skills, and organizational processes.
Internship Placement Across DU Offices
Selected interns under VCIS 2025-26 will be appointed across more than 55 different offices of Delhi University. This will allow students to understand the administrative and academic workings of the university firsthand.
The program, which started in the academic session 2022-23, aims to bridge the gap between theoretical learning and practical experience. It provides undergraduates and postgraduates with a deep understanding of university and government operations.
Two Internship Categories
VCIS offers two categories of internships:
-
Part-Time Internship (During Academic Session – 6 months)
-
Hours: 8-10 hours per week
-
Stipend: ₹5,775 per month
-
-
Full-Time Summer Internship (2 months)
-
Hours: 20 hours per week
-
Stipend: ₹11,000 per month
-
This structure allows students to choose an internship type that best fits their academic schedule and career goals.
Next Steps for Students
Students are advised to monitor the official DU VCIS portal for the release of the final selection list. After selection, interns will receive placement details and orientation for their respective offices.
VCIS not only provides stipend-based financial support but also equips students with hands-on experience in university administration, enhancing their professional skills and employability.
The VCIS initiative continues to gain popularity among Delhi University students as it bridges the gap between classroom learning and real-world administrative exposure, preparing them for future careers in both academic and administrative domains.
