Delhi University has taken a significant step to simplify and expedite the degree-obtaining process for students. Students' degrees will now be made available digitally on the day of the university's convocation. These degrees will be uploaded to the DigiLocker, National Academic Depository (NAD), and Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) portals. This system will eliminate the long wait for degree verification.

This facility will be particularly helpful for students when applying for higher education, jobs, or studying abroad, and will make the entire process more transparent.

Student Benefits
This decision will provide numerous benefits to students. If a student seeks admission to another university, is applying for a job, or is planning to study abroad, they will no longer have to go through the lengthy process of degree verification. Availability of degrees on a digital platform will make verification faster and easier. According to the university, over 3.3 million student mark sheets and over 600,000 degrees have been uploaded to DigiLocker so far.

Only Eligible Students Will Receive Digital Degrees
According to the University's Controller of Examinations, Professor Gurpreet Singh Tuteja, digital degrees will be issued only to students who have completed their course and are eligible to receive them. This year, the system of providing digital degrees has been initiated simultaneously with the convocation and will continue in the future.

Printed Degrees Will Also Continue
In addition to digital degrees, the university will also continue to provide printed degrees to students. Students will be able to download their digital degrees directly from DigiLocker. To receive a physical degree, they will need to apply online. Printed degrees will be issued within a few working days after the necessary verification.

Previously, a six-month wait was required.
Previously, it took approximately six months for university degrees to be uploaded to DigiLocker, but under the new system, they will now be available on the day of the convocation. This is also expected to speed up and make the degree verification process more transparent for foreign universities, embassies, and other institutions.
