DU UG Admission 2026: If you are preparing for undergraduate admission after Class 12 this year but could not appear for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) UG 2026, do not be disheartened. Delhi University (DU) has reopened the registration window to offer admission to all such candidates—both those who did not take the CUET and those who did. This is an opportunity for candidates who have not yet secured admission to do so; they can register until August 5.

Let us understand the details of the situation and why DU has decided to give an opportunity to non-CUET UG candidates in the 2026 admission process. We will also look at how to register.

**Registration Process Begins for Mid-Entry Round Admission**
DU commenced the new academic session on July 28 and has already released two admission lists. Meanwhile, the university has initiated the registration process for the 'Mid-Entry Round' of admissions. This round was announced to fill seats remaining vacant after the admissions conducted through the first two lists. Any eligible candidate can apply for undergraduate seats under this round; the requirement of having qualified for CUET UG 2026 has been waived.

**August 5 is the Last Date to Register; Here’s How to Do It**
The registration process for the Mid-Entry Round under the DU UG admission process 2026 began on August 3. Candidates can register by visiting the official website, du.ac.in. The deadline for registration is August 5, up to 11:59 PM. Here is how you can register:

*   First, visit the official DU website: du.ac.in.
*   Click on the application link and enter your registration details.
*   Click 'Submit' after completing the registration process.
*   Fill out the application form after the registration process is complete.
*   Make the payment for the application form. Click on 'Submit' and download the confirmation page.

Keep a hard copy of it for future reference.

Who is eligible for the Mid-Entry Round?
Candidates who, for some reason, have not yet registered for admission can apply for the DU UG admission mid-entry round. According to information shared by DU, students who did not participate in Phase 1 (registration) of the DU UG admission process can apply for the mid-entry round. They will be required to pay a non-refundable fee of ₹1,000.

Additionally, candidates who could not participate in Phase 2 (college and subject mapping) or who made errors during the mapping process can also apply for the mid-entry round. Such candidates can rectify their incorrect subject mapping or preferences and participate in the admission process.

However, DU has clarified that mid-entry is not permitted for admissions under supernumerary quotas (such as ECA, Sports, CW, and Ward quotas) or for performance-based programs like BA (H) Music and BSc (PE, HE & S), and practical-based programs like BFA.

Admission list to be released on August 8
Applications for the DU UG admission mid-entry round can be submitted from August 3 to August 5, 2026. The Round 1 seat allotment—or the admission list—will be released on August 8. Candidates allotted seats in this list can accept their seats by August 11. Colleges will verify and approve applications between August 8 and August 12. The deadline for fee payment is August 13.
