DU Admission: Children of military personnel get exemption in DU UG admission, 5 percent seats are reserved, know how to get admission in CW quota?

Delhi University (DU) UG admission process 2025 is at its peak. DU UG admission portal was launched on 17th June. With this, the first phase of DU UG admission started. THE CUET UG 2025 result was declared on Friday. In such a situation, the second phase of DU admission will also start after 6th July. Admission in DU is done on the basis of merit of CUET UG, but DU also gives admission through many types of quotas, through which the merit of CUET UG becomes secondary after taking admission.

5% seats reserved for dependents of military personnel
DU has reserved 5% seats for dependents of military personnel under the UG admission process. These 5% seats are reserved in all colleges and all courses. Dependents of military personnel mean children and their wives dependent on serving, retired, or martyred military personnel in the Indian Army, Navy, Air Force, and all Armed Forces.
These certificates have to be submitted for admission through the CW quota.
Under the DU UG admission process, students wishing to apply through the CW quota have to submit some certificates. According to the information given on page number 20 of DU UG Admission 2025 Bulletin, students cannot submit identity card, medical card, ration card, CSD card of their military parents or dependents for admission through CW quota. These are not valid. Special certificates are required for this. Their information is given below.
Certificate issued by the Secretary, Central Sainik Board, Delhi
Certificate issued by the Secretary, State District Sainik Board
Certificate issued by Officer-in-Charge, Records Office
Certificate issued by First Class Salary Officer
Certificate issued by the Home Ministry (for gallantry award-winning police personnel)
Merit is prepared based on the category of the certificate
5% seats are reserved for children of military personnel in DU UG admission, but merit for admission is made on the basis of the category of certificate. DU has divided the certificates into 9 categories, based on which priority is decided for admission. Let us know what are these 9 categories of certificates.
First category – Children or widows of soldiers and officers martyred during war
Second category – Dependents of military personnel retired due to becoming disabled in war
Third category – Dependents of military personnel martyred during service
Fourth category – Dependents of military personnel disabled during service
Fifth category – Dependents of Param Vir Chakra, Ashok Chakra, Mahavir Chakra, Kirti Chakra, Vir Chakra Shaurya Chakra, President's Police Medal for Gallantry, Army Medal (Gallantry), Navy Medal (Gallantry), Air Force Medal (Gallantry), Coast Guard Medal (Gallantry), Mention-in-Dispatch, Police Medal for Gallantry, Gallantry Medal winners for fire service personnel
Sixth category – Dependents of ex-servicemen
Seventh category – Wives of military personnel disabled during war or service, ex-servicemen receiving gallantry award, and wives of serving personnel
Eighth category – Children of military personnel serving in the army
Ninth category – Wives of military personnel serving in the army
Application has to be made on the admission portal only
Application to avail the benefit of CW quota in DU UG admission. Talking about the process, it has been arranged in the admission portal itself, under which students have to choose CW quota while applying. Then they have to complete the admission formalities by submitting the related certificate.
