DU Admission 2025: Record applications received for admission in Delhi University, 2023 record broken

Delhi University is processing admission through CSAS this time too. Students first appear in the CUET (UG) 2025 exam and then choose the college and course of their choice based on their score.
The year 2025 is proving to be a historic admission season for the University (DU). All records so far have been broken in the undergraduate (UG) admission process which started on 17 June 2025. This time the university got the highest number of registrations and preference submissions, which shows that DU is still number one among the most trusted and popular higher educational organizations in the country.
Admission process going on through CSAS
Delhi University is processing admission through Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) this time too. Students first appear in the CUET (UG) 2025 exam and then choose the college and course of their choice on the CSAS portal based on its score. The aim of CSAS is to allot seats to students in a transparent, data-driven and fair manner based on merit, priority and available seats.
DU made this record
DU management officially said that this year 3,05,357 students registered on the CSAS portal, which is the highest figure till date. Of these, 2,39,890 students submitted their college-course preferences.
Students chose a total of 1.68 crore unique course-college combinations.
An average of 83 preferences were given per student.
A student who filled the highest number of preferences reached 1414 preferences.
In 2023, about 3 lakh students had registered.
Inclusion of gender and social diversity
Special care has been taken of inclusivity and diversity in the admission process of Delhi University.
53% of the total applicants are girl students and 47% are boys.
3 transgender students have also applied this time.
512 students have applied under the orphan quota and 7243 girl students have applied under the single girl child quota.
This course is the most preferred
Talking about the popularity of the course, this year also B.Com (Hons) has remained the first choice of the students. This course was chosen about 20 lakh times, which is a new record for any one course.
