DU Admission 2025: How many students have confirmed their seats?
After the release of the first list, the race of students started. According to official figures, 72,659 students confirmed their seats, out of which 27,533 registered in just two hours. Colleges gave the green signal to 14,939 applications after verification. This number may increase further, as many students will make their decision now.
DU has made a total of 93,166 allotments for 71,624 seats this year. A media report quoted a senior officer as saying that every year, students do seat shuffling, i.e., someone leaves his seat or takes an upgrade, so we allot more seats than required so that every eligible student gets a chance. This time, 69 colleges include 79 graduate programs – like BA, BCom, BSc, BA Honors, and specialized courses. Every category is covered.
General, OBC, EWS, SC, ST: Seats for all.
Sikh minorities, PwBD, Kashmiri migrants: Special quota.

These special quotas are proving to be a boon for students.

Some special courses and processes
This time DU has reserved seats in the third round for creative and performance-based courses like Hindustani Music, Carnatic Music, Percussion, Physical Education, and Fine Arts. To get admission in these, one has to give a trial, and the schedule can be checked on the respective college websites. Also, DU has taken a great step–now the minimum cutoff marks and their rank are being shown on the dashboard of the students. This information has also been uploaded on du.ac.in, so that every student gets complete transparency and confusion ends.
Special points of DU admission
This year DU has made complete arrangements to give equal opportunity to every student. Giving special quota for single girl child and orphan students is a well-thought-out decision which is turning the dreams of these children into reality. 27,533 seat acceptances in the first two hours are proof of how excited the students are.
What to do now?
Confirm your seat now. Keep documents like 12th mark sheet, ID proof, and photo ready. If the fees are not deposited by July 23, the seat may be cancelled, so plan for online payment. If you do not get a place in the first round, do not lose hope. The second chance will come on July 28. Connect with the college on time for verification, or else delay may cause trouble. It is every student's dream to get admission in DU and this year's process is making it easier. Whether you are interested in Science, Arts or Commerce, DU's 69 colleges are giving you great opportunities.
