Students from economically weaker sections studying at the University of Delhi get an exemption. They can take advantage of it. The university started its Financial Support Scheme (FSS) in 2022 to help students facing financial difficulties to pursue higher education. The application window for this scheme opened on September 10. Interested students can apply by visiting the university website du.ac.in and dsw.du.ac.in. This scheme is being implemented under the Dean of Student Welfare Office.

Eligibility and fee waiver
This scheme is open to regular meritorious students studying in UG/PG in any department, institute, or center of DU. It also includes constituent colleges, the B.Tech Program (CIC) five-year integrated course, SOL, and NCWEB.

A fee waiver will be provided on the basis of the annual income of the family. Which is as follows-

Annual income up to Rs 4,00,000 – Up to 100% fee waiver (up to a maximum of Rs 15,000).

Income between Rs 4,00,001 to Rs 8,00,000 – Up to 50 percent fee waiver (up to a maximum of Rs 10,000)

Required Documents

EWS/OBC-NCL Certificate or Annual Income Certificate issued for 2024-25 (issued after March 31, 2025). Income certificates signed by notary officers will not be accepted.

Self-attested copies of the latest Income Tax Return (2024-25) for father, mother, and unmarried siblings below 23 years of age, if filed.

PAN card of all family members
Signed affidavit
Bonafide certificate issued by the head of the department or institute
Mark sheet of the last passed exam
Latest fee receipt
Bank passbook (with student’s name, account number and IFSC) or cancelled cheque.
