DSSSB Exam 2026: The Delhi government recruitment exam will not be held in March, and the age limit rules will be changed..
DSSSB Exam 2025 Postponed: The Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board (DSSSB) exam has been postponed because the government is now considering increasing the age limit. Delhi Education Minister Ashish Sood said that the previous governments did not conduct the exams through DSSSB, due to which those who wanted to become teachers have crossed the age limit. By the time they complete their studies, they are 24-25 years old, while the minimum age limit is 30. In addition, the recruitment rules (RR) for the entire country have been changed by the Government of India, and some candidates had already exceeded the age limit to appear for the exam.
The DSSSB notification stated that the exam would be held in March, but we have stopped it. A new date will be announced once provisions for granting age relaxation are finalized.
Age Limit Rules to be Changed
Delhi's teacher candidates were disappointed with the exam dates. Considering this, the candidates also met with the Education Minister on Saturday. Until now, all the concerned officials and the Education Minister have been continuously assuring that the notification issued for 2025, based on the wrong policies or misinformation of the previous government, will be changed soon and the BJP government will not allow any injustice to be done to any Delhi resident.
Earlier this year, the DSSSB issued a recruitment notification changing the age limit rules that were in effect until 2024, and also removed the 10-year special age relaxation given to women. In January, the age limit for PGT posts was also reduced. Now the government is considering increasing the age limit for DSSSB exams, and until a final decision is made regarding this age limit, the DSSSB exam will not be conducted.
Stay on the Old Order
Regarding this, the Delhi government's education department has temporarily stayed the old order. This means that until a new order is issued regarding the change in the age limit, the exam will not be conducted. The All India Guest Teachers Association says that increasing the age limit in recruitment will provide great relief to young people and guest teachers.
