Which students are eligible for the NOS?
Candidates belonging to specific categories and communities can apply under the NOS scheme. Eligibility extends to candidates from Scheduled Castes, Denotified, Nomadic, and Semi-Nomadic Tribes, as well as those from landless agricultural laborer and traditional artisan families. To qualify, candidates must meet the criteria regarding their specific category as well as the scheme's requirements concerning academics, age, family income, and admission to a foreign university.
What are the minimum marks required for the scholarship?
Applicants must have secured at least 60% marks (or an equivalent grade) in their qualifying examination. Candidates applying for a Master’s degree must hold the requisite Bachelor’s degree in the relevant subject, while those applying for a PhD must possess the prescribed Master’s degree.
