The Combat Vehicles Research and Development Establishment (CVRDE), Avadi, Chennai—under the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO)—has invited applications from students for its paid internship program for the 2026-27 academic year. This program is designed for undergraduate and postgraduate engineering students. Participants will gain insight into the design and development processes of armoured fighting vehicles and associated systems. Interns will receive training in areas such as weapon systems, powerpack technology, running gear, vehicle electricals, and electronics/communication.
**Eligibility Criteria**
Students currently in the 7th or 8th semester of BE/B.Tech or the 1st or 2nd year of ME/M.Tech are eligible to apply. Applicants must be regular, full-time students pursuing these degrees in relevant disciplines at a recognized Indian university or institute. A strong academic record is mandatory for selection; candidates must possess a minimum CGPA of 8.5 (on a 10-point scale) or 85% marks. Maintaining a minimum CGPA of 8.5 across all previous semesters is also required. Additionally, the applicant must be under 28 years of age as of July 1, 2026.
**Stipend and Certificate**
Selection will be based entirely on merit. Selected students will receive instructions regarding the internship and joining formalities via email. Interns are required to undergo training at CVRDE for a minimum of 20 working days per month. Upon successful completion of the internship, students will be awarded a certificate. Furthermore, they will receive a total stipend of ₹30,000 for the six-month duration, paid at a rate of ₹5,000 per month. This amount will be credited directly to their bank accounts in two installments. How to Apply
Candidates wishing to apply for the internship must download the prescribed format available on the official DRDO website, drdo.gov.in. After filling in the required details, the application must be sent to CVRDE solely via Speed Post, courier, or registered post. The application must be accompanied by a recent passport-sized photograph, a request letter or No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the college Principal/Director, an undertaking form, mark sheets for all semesters, bonafide and character certificates, an Aadhaar card, and the college ID. Additionally, a bio-data of up to 300 words must be submitted. Proof of achievements, awards, certificates, publications, or patents may also be attached. The envelope containing the application must be superscribed with "Application for Paid Internship" and the relevant branch code. The deadline for submitting applications is September 18, 2026.

The maximum age limit for applicants is 28 years.
Selected students will receive a total honorarium of ₹30,000.
