CBSE Class 12 Re-evaluation 2026: Following the release of the CBSE Class 12 Board Results 2026, a new update has emerged regarding the re-evaluation and re-checking process. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is now set to commence the re-evaluation process for Class 12 students starting June 1, 2026. This facility will be available exclusively to those students who have requested scanned copies of their answer sheets. Although the Board had previously stated in a notice that the portal for marks verification and re-evaluation would open on May 29, 2026, the date has now been revised in a newly issued press statement. According to the Board, the process will now begin on June 1.

**Only Students Who Have Obtained Scanned Copies Can Apply**
Under CBSE's new framework, only those students who have previously obtained scanned copies of their answer sheets will be eligible to apply for re-evaluation. After reviewing the scanned copies, students will be able to determine which specific questions they feel require re-examination. The Board states that the objective of this process is to provide students with a more transparent and equitable system, enabling them to make informed decisions after personally reviewing their answer sheets.

**Complaints Regarding the OSM System Persist**
This year, for the first time, CBSE implemented the On-Screen Marking (OSM) system on a large scale. Under this system, students' answer sheets were evaluated digitally; however, since the announcement of the results, a steady stream of complaints from students has surfaced on social media platforms. Many students have reported that the images in the scanned copies they received appear blurred. Meanwhile, some students have alleged that their entire answer sheets are either not visible at all or that certain pages are missing. These complaints have caused significant anxiety and distress among the student community. In light of this controversy and the difficulties faced by students, CBSE has launched a 24x7 toll-free helpline—1800-11-8004—to assist. Additionally, students and parents can also register their complaints or queries by sending an email to info.cbse@nic.in and resultcbse2026@cbseshiksha.in.

**Lakhs of Students Requested Scanned Copies**

According to statistics released by the CBSE, a large number of students have requested scanned copies of their answer sheets this time. As per the Board, a total of 404,319 applications were received for scanned copies, while students requested copies of a total of 1,131,961 answer sheets. So far, the Board has digitally made available 898,214 answer sheets. In its bulletin dated May 26, 2026, the CBSE stated that the remaining pending scanned copies would also be made available to students via their registered email IDs and the official portal by May 27.
