UPSC Prelims Exam 2026: The Delhi Metro has made a major announcement regarding the UPSC Prelims examination, stating that on the day of the exam, metro services on several lines will commence one hour earlier than usual. The Civil Services Prelims Exam is scheduled to take place on May 24, an event in which lakhs of young aspirants from across the country participate. Given the rush to reach exam centers on the day of the examination, the Delhi Metro has extended a significant convenience to the candidates. Let us find out exactly which lines will begin metro operations and at what time in the morning.

**Metro Services to Begin at 6:00 AM**
The DMRC has announced that on May 24, metro services on certain Delhi Metro lines will commence at 6:00 AM. This special arrangement will specifically apply to the Pink Line, Magenta Line, and Grey Line. Typically, on Sundays, metro services on these lines begin at 7:00 AM; however, this time—keeping the examination in mind—services are being started an hour early to ensure that candidates appearing for the exam do not face any inconvenience.

Between 6:00 AM and 7:00 AM, trains will run at intervals of 15 minutes; thereafter, metro services will operate according to the standard timetable. On all other metro lines, services will continue to run as per the regular Sunday schedule, starting from 6:00 AM. The DMRC states that this arrangement has been put in place to ensure that candidates appearing for the examination are able to reach their respective exam centers on time.

**Preparations for the UPSC Examination**
The UPSC Civil Services Examination is regarded as one of the most prestigious examinations in the country. The selection process for entry into the police and administrative services consists of a three-tier examination structure: first, the Prelims; followed by the Mains; and finally, the Interview. The final result is determined by aggregating the scores obtained in all three stages, after which a merit list is released. This year, a total of 83 exam centers have been established across the country for the Civil Services Examination. Several new centers were also opened with the specific aim of reducing overcrowding. Lakhs of students dedicate several years to preparing for this examination.
