Delhi Metro's 'Green Channel' for students appearing for CBSE exams; VIP entry is available on showing admit card..
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced a significant relief to millions of students appearing for the CBSE Board Exams 2026. The Class 10th and 12th exams begin on February 17th and continue until April 10th. The Metro has made special preparations to ensure students reach their exam centers on time. Students will no longer have to waste time waiting in long queues at metro stations. The DMRC has clarified that students with CBSE admit cards will be given priority during security checks (frisking) and at ticket counters. This step has been taken to ensure students reach their exam centers on time, free from mental stress. The Metro administration, in collaboration with the CISF, has designed security arrangements to ensure prompt screening of students.
Will there be separate lines for students at metro stations?
Metro stations are often crowded with office-goers in the morning. Therefore, the DMRC has issued special instructions to ensure that 10th and 12th grade students do not face any inconvenience.
Staff deployed during security checks will allow students to proceed to the front of the queue after checking their admit cards.
Students will also be given tickets or tokens first at ticket office machines (TOMs) and customer care counters.
Continuous announcements will be made through loudspeakers inside metro stations to ensure students receive proper guidance.
This system will be particularly effective at stations near major examination centers.
What rules will students need to follow on the first day of the exam?
CBSE exams will begin at 10:30 am, but the board has allowed entry only until 10 am. CBSE Examination Controller Dr. Sanyam Bhardwaj has advised students to reach the center at least half an hour in advance. Given the traffic congestion and route diversions on Delhi roads, the metro is the safest option.
Students must carry a hard copy of their admit card, school ID, and a transparent water bottle. Mobile phones, smartwatches, or any other electronic gadgets are strictly prohibited. Students should also avoid carrying these prohibited items while traveling on the metro.
"Carry a small margin from home."
Due to various ongoing events and construction work in Delhi, traffic may slow down on many routes. The DMRC has appealed to parents to allow some time before leaving home. Although metro frequency will be improved during the exam days, it is wise to leave early due to the possibility of technical glitches.
The board has also instructed schools to immediately report any errors in the question paper on the OECMS portal. For the convenience of students, the metro has put its entire team on alert mode to ensure that no student misses their train during the exam.
