Attendance Tracking: The Delhi government has revamped the official website of the Education Department. To enhance transparency and provide better convenience to students, daily attendance tracking, mock tests, a question bank, and a new "Fee Review" section have been added.
According to the website, the Fee Review tab allows parents to submit complaints related to school fees, check their status online, and send emails directly to the Chairman of the Fee Review Committee. The committee includes former Chief Justice of the Rajasthan High Court, Justice Anil Dev Singh, as Chairperson, Chartered Accountant JS Kochhar, and former Additional Director of Education RK Sharma as members.
A Three-Member Committee Formed
Former Chief Justice of the Rajasthan High Court, Justice Anil Dev Singh, is Chairperson, and Chartered Accountant JS Kochhar, and former Additional Director of Education RK Sharma are members.
The website also contains details of a 2009 writ petition filed by the Delhi Abhiyakta Mahasangh in the Delhi High Court, challenging an order allowing private non-government schools to increase fees to implement the Sixth Central Pay Commission recommendations.
In its August 12, 2011, decision, the Court directed the formation of a three-member committee to examine the accounts of Delhi's private non-government recognized schools to justify the fee hike. According to the notification, R.K. Sharma was later designated as the education expert by the Chief Secretary of the Delhi government.
Attendance updates are mandatory in government schools.
The revamped website also includes daily attendance reports. All 1,086 government schools are required to update the number of students present, absent, or on leave daily.
According to data available on the website on Monday, attendance was recorded in 1,004 schools, with 418,249 students present, 256,604 absent, and 882,241 on leave, out of a total of 15,57,094 students.
Additionally, the Delhi School Education (Transparency in Fee Determination and Regulation) Act, 2025, and its rules are available in a separate section on the website.
According to the website, students can also access Common University Entrance Test (CUET) question papers and mock tests for various subjects, as well as mental math question banks and newly developed workbooks for classes 3 to 12 for practice.
