25% of seats in Delhi's private and government schools are reserved for children from the Economically Weaker Section (EWS), Disadvantaged Section (DG), CWSN, and children with disabilities. The Delhi Directorate of Education has opened the application process for these seats on February 22nd. Parents wishing to enroll their children can fill out the application form by March 16, 2026, the deadline.
This time, the form can be filled out online.
The Delhi Directorate of Education has launched a new portal for admissions. Parents can complete the application process directly by visiting the official website, edudel.nic.in, or the portal, ewsadmissions.delhi.gov.in. The form will only be accepted online. To fill out the online form, visit the portal, ewsadmissions.delhi.gov.in.
In Step 1, click on "Register" and enter the requested details.
Next, fill out the application form by logging in in Step 2.
Select schools in Step 3.
Submit the form in Step 4, take a printout and keep it safe.
Age Limit
Pre-school/Nursery: Children aged 3-5 years must be born between April 1, 2021, and March 31, 2023.
Pre-primary/KG: Children aged 4-6 years must be born between April 1, 2020, and March 31, 2022.
Primary/Class 1: Children aged 5-7 years must be born between April 1, 2019, and March 31, 2021.
Eligibility
Children whose parents' annual income is up to ₹5 lakh will now be eligible for admission to private schools in Delhi. The age certificate must be issued by the Revenue Department of the Delhi Government. BPL/AAY (Ration Card/Food Security Card holders) whose cards have been issued by the Delhi Government before the last date of applying for the online admission process are eligible to apply under the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) category.
