Delhi Dominates School Rankings, Topping Lists Across Government and Private Sectors

Several schools from Delhi secured top rankings across various categories—including government, central government, private, special needs, and international schools—following a nationwide survey.

Schools from Delhi-NCR have distinguished themselves across multiple categories in the EducationWorld India School Rankings 2026-27. Notably, Delhi schools achieved top ranks in categories ranging from government and central government to private, special needs, and international schools. These rankings were released by EducationWorld in collaboration with AZ Research Partners Pvt. Ltd. This marks the 20th edition of the EducationWorld India School Rankings. The nationwide survey involved 18,000 respondents across 34 cities, including parents of school-going children, teachers, educationists, and counselors. Approximately 4,500 schools across 22 states were evaluated during the survey.

Delhi’s Government Schools Also Make Their Mark

Delhi’s government schools performed exceptionally well in the ‘State Government Day School’ category. Dr. B.R. Ambedkar CM RISE School (Sector 10, Dwarka) secured the third rank nationally. In the same category, the DBRA CM RISE School in Yamuna Vihar ranked fifth, while the school in Sector 19, Dwarka, ranked sixth. A school located in Surajmal Vihar secured the seventh rank. A Delhi-NCR school also featured in the ‘Government Boarding School’ category, with Shaheed Bhagat Singh CM RISE School (Jharoda Kalan, Delhi) securing the top spot.

Delhi Leads in Central Government Schools Too

In the ‘Central Government Day Schools’ category, Army Public School (Delhi Cantt) secured the first rank nationally. Army Public School (Dhaula Kuan) and Air Force Golden Jubilee Institute also achieved top rankings. In the Delhi-NCR list for this category, Delhi Cantt School secured the top spot with a score of 1,182. Army Public School, Dhaula Kuan, and Air Force Golden Jubilee Institute took the second and third positions with scores of 1,157 and 1,146, respectively. They were followed by Air Force Bal Bharati School (Lodhi Road), The Air Force School (Subroto Park), Army Public School (Sanskar Vihar), Army Public School (Noida), and Navy Children School (Chanakyapuri).

Private Schools Also Secured Top Ranks

In the co-ed day school category, Springdales School, Dhaula Kuan, ranked first in the country. The Shri Ram School (Vasant Vihar) and Nirmal Bharti School (Delhi) jointly secured the second position. Suncity School (Gurugram) ranked joint third, Shiv Nadar School (Gurugram) fourth, Step by Step (Noida) joint seventh, and Shri Venkateshwar International School (Sector 10, Dwarka) tenth. Among girls’ day schools, Uttam School for Girls (Ghaziabad) stood second; Sadhu Vaswani International School for Girls (Delhi) ranked joint sixth, and Carmel Convent School (Delhi) ranked joint tenth. Meanwhile, in the boys’ day school category, St. Columba’s School (Delhi) secured the third rank.

Special Needs and International Schools Also on the List

In the special needs school category, Tamanna Autism Centre – School of Hope (Delhi) ranked fifth nationally, while Sanchetna (Noida) secured a joint sixth rank. Among international day-cum-boarding schools, GD Goenka World School (Sohna Road, Gurugram) took the top spot. Genesis Global School (Noida) ranked second, Sancta Maria International School (Faridabad) third, and Excelsior American School (Gurugram) fourth. Among international day schools, Prometheus School (Noida) secured the first position with a score of 1,263.

On What Criteria Were Schools Ranked?

According to EducationWorld, schools were evaluated based on several parameters. These included academic reputation, teacher competence, individual attention to students, school leadership, curriculum, co-curricular activities, sports, community service, parental involvement, teacher welfare, value for money, student welfare, infrastructure, and special needs education. For legacy schools, the quality of their alumni was also included as part of the assessment.
