For the 2026-27 academic session at Delhi's CM Shri Schools,' entrance examinations for admission to Classes 6 and 9 will be held on April 13, while the exam for Class 11 is scheduled for May 7. Admit cards for these entrance examinations have been issued and can be downloaded from the official portal. In a public notice, the Education Department stated that certain preliminary examinations for Classes 6 and 9 were conducted during the last week of March; however, the main examination for these classes will conclude on April 13, whereas the examination for Class 11 is scheduled for May. Meanwhile, the results for Classes 6 and 9 will be declared on April 30, and the results for Class 11 will be released on May 25.

A circular issued by the Education Department states that only residents of Delhi who have studied in a recognized school within the National Capital during the 2025-26 academic session are eligible to apply for admission to these schools. According to the department, 50 percent of the seats are reserved for students who have passed Classes 5, 8, and 10 from Delhi Government schools, while the remaining seats are open to other eligible applicants who fulfill the prescribed residency and educational criteria.

What is the Format of the Entrance Examination?
The entrance examination will be objective-type and OMR-based. Class-wise syllabus details and a sample OMR sheet will be made available on the department's website to enable applicants to familiarize themselves with the examination format. The question paper for Class 6 will be bilingual (in two languages), whereas the question papers for Classes 9 and 11 will be in English. There will be no negative marking in the Class 6 examination; however, negative marking will be applicable in the examinations for Classes 9 and 11. The maximum marks for the Class 6 examination are 300, while the entrance examinations for Classes 9 and 11 carry a maximum weightage of 400 marks each.

The CM Shri School is an initiative of the Delhi Government aimed at providing modern infrastructure, an updated curriculum, and holistic learning practices alongside education. These schools are part of an effort to strengthen public education and enhance academic and co-curricular opportunities for students. In fact, on February 17, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta launched this program across 75 government schools in the city and inaugurated a CM Shri School in Sarojini Nagar, Delhi.
