The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued an important notification for students preparing for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET UG 2026). Candidates whose application forms were found to contain errors related to their photographs have been granted a final opportunity to rectify these issues. Therefore, if you have also applied, it is crucial to verify your details immediately, as even a minor error could adversely affect your examination.

According to the NTA, photographs uploaded by many candidates are either unclear or do not comply with the prescribed guidelines. Such candidates have been provided an opportunity to make corrections through a 'Correction Window' available from April 7 to April 10, 2026. Meanwhile, the CUET UG 2026 examination is scheduled to be conducted between May 11 and May 31, 2026.

**Why is a Correct Photograph Essential?**
The agency has stated that Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based facial recognition technology will be utilized at examination centers for candidate identification. If your photograph is blurred, outdated, or uploaded incorrectly, it may lead to difficulties in verifying your identity. In such a scenario, you may even be denied permission to appear for the examination.

For this reason, the NTA has commenced sending alerts via email and SMS to students whose photographs were found to contain discrepancies.

**Essential Guidelines for Photograph Upload**
According to the new guidelines, the background of the photograph must be white, and the face should be clearly visible. At least 80% of the face must be visible, and the ears must also be clearly discernible.

Candidates are permitted to wear spectacles; however, there should be no glare or reflection on the lenses. Sunglasses or tinted glasses will not be accepted. The photograph must be a recent one and should be absolutely clear.

**How to Correct Your Photograph**
First, visit the official CUET website.
Log in using your Application Number and Password.
Click on the 'Correction Window' or 'Photo Correction' link.
Upload a new and clear photograph.
After submitting, download the confirmation page. Keep the Deadline in Mind
This facility for correcting photographs is available only until April 10, 2026. After this date, no further modifications of any kind will be possible. The NTA has clarified that if the necessary corrections are not made within the stipulated timeframe, the admit card will not be issued, and the application may even be cancelled.

Experts advise candidates to verify not only their photograph but also their signature. Adhering to technical specifications is crucial to ensure that no complications arise on the day of the examination.
