Following Delhi University's (DU) lead, other universities and colleges across the country are now offering admission opportunities to non-CUET candidates for vacant seats. Colleges affiliated with the University of Allahabad (Uttar Pradesh) and Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University (Uttarakhand) have opened admission avenues for non-CUET students. Consequently, if you did not take the CUET, there is still a chance to secure undergraduate admission at certain institutions.

**Opportunity for Non-CUET Students at Allahabad University (AU) Colleges**
Ishwar Saran Degree College, affiliated with the University of Allahabad, had previously decided to include non-CUET candidates in the admission process for the B.Sc. (Mathematics) program. Now, the college has decided to extend this opportunity to non-CUET students for the B.A. first-year admission process as well. The online admission process for non-CUET candidates at the college is scheduled for August 28. Participation is restricted to students who have already registered with the college; essentially, those who have pre-registered will be given an admission opportunity alongside candidates registered through CUET. This decision is expected to bring relief to students who missed the CUET process for various reasons, allowing them to participate in the B.A. first-year admission process based on seat availability.

**Opportunity for Non-CUET Students at Allahabad Degree College (ADC)**
Allahabad Degree College (ADC) has also released a new cutoff for first-year undergraduate courses. Admissions for B.A. and B.Sc. programs at the college will take place on August 31. Non-CUET candidates will be given the opportunity to participate in the B.A. admission process, while B.Sc. admissions will be open to CUET candidates falling under specific categories such as sports, differently-abled, Kashmiri migrants, and the hill area quota. At the college's Kaudiyabag campus, the cutoff for B.Com. has been set at 100 marks. Meanwhile, at the Zero Road campus, admissions for B.A. and B.Com. have been opened to all candidates.

Allahabad University Releases New Cut-offs

Allahabad University has released the 10th cut-off for the BA program and the 13th cut-off for the BSc (Mathematics) program. Candidates who have been allotted seats must complete the admission process by 10:00 AM on August 31. It is also mandatory to deposit the fees within the stipulated time. For the BA program, the cut-off marks are 430 (down from 439) for the General category, 360 (down from 365) for EWS, 361 (down from 369) for OBC, and 308 (down from 317) for SC. For BSc (Mathematics), the cut-off has been set at 414.50 (up from 412.75) for the General category, 367 (up from 364.50) for OBC, 376 (up from 372) for EWS, and 282 (up from 279) for SC; meanwhile, for the BAFM program, the cut-off stands at 660.13 for the Unreserved category, 621.19 for OBC, and 503.66 for SC.

Another Opportunity for Document Verification

Allahabad University has also provided relief to students who, despite securing admission to the first year of BA, BSc (Mathematics), or BSc (Biology), were unable to complete document verification and enrollment during the initial phase. BSc (Mathematics) candidates can visit the Admission Building on August 31 and September 1 between 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM for the physical verification of their documents. For BA students, physical verification will take place from August 31 to September 2. Arrangements have been made in two shifts: the first shift from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM and the second shift from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

Garhwal University Also Opens Admissions

Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University in Uttarakhand has also taken a significant decision regarding students who were unable to appear for the CUET examination. The university has opened admissions for non-CUET students to fill vacant seats in undergraduate courses for the 2026-27 academic session. Students who could not appear for the CUET examination can register for admission until August 31. Admission will be granted based on a merit list prepared using Class 12 marks; effectively, this opens a pathway for admission to vacant seats at Garhwal University even for students who do not possess a CUET score.

Class 12 marks will serve as the basis for admitting non-CUET students to Garhwal University. A merit list will be prepared following the completion of registration, and admissions to available seats will be granted based on this list. The university has instructed the respective campuses and affiliated colleges to complete the admission process by September 4, 2026. Students are advised to verify the availability of vacant seats for their preferred subjects at the respective campus before registering.
