CBSE Re-CTET Exam: The CTET Paper-2 exam, which was canceled at some centers in Vaishali district, Bihar, in February 2026, will now be re-conducted. Let's find out the details...

Big news for candidates preparing for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test. CBSE has decided to re-conduct Paper-2 for the CTET February 2026 session. This decision was taken in the interest of candidates whose exams were canceled at some centers in Vaishali district, Bihar, due to administrative reasons. The board stated that the re-examination was chosen to ensure that no candidate is discriminated against.

The CBSE conducted the 21st edition of the CTET on February 7th and 8th, 2026. It included both Paper-1 and Paper-2. However, the Paper-2 exam could not be completed at some centers in Vaishali district on February 7th and 8th, 2026. Due to administrative difficulties, the exam had to be cancelled midway. This forced hundreds of candidates to return without taking the exam, causing considerable disappointment.

Which Centers Couldn't Hold the Exam?

According to information released by the Board, the centers where the Paper-2 exam could not be conducted include Lakshya Academy, Bardiha, Patepur, Vaishali (Hajipur) and St. John Academy, Basmati Nagar, Keshopur, Post Office Baluka Ram, Vaishali. The exam arrangements at these two centers were not fully operational, so the decision was made to cancel the exam.

Re-Exam to be Held on March 1st

CBSE has now clarified that the CTET Paper-2 re-exam will be held at these two centers on Sunday, March 1st, 2026. Only candidates whose previous exam centers were located at these locations will be able to appear for this re-exam. The Board has also clarified that this exam will be held only for the affected candidates; other candidates will not need to re-take the exam.

A new admit card will be issued.

Candidates appearing for the re-exam will be issued a new admit card. This admit card will be made available in the candidate's login. All candidates are advised to visit the official website, ctet.nic.in, and download their revised admit card in a timely manner. Entry to the exam center will not be permitted without the new admit card.

No change in exam date or center

CBSE has clearly stated that no changes will be made to the March 1 exam. Neither the exam date nor the exam center will be changed. No requests from candidates will be accepted. The board also stated that this will be the last chance, so all candidates must arrive at the exam center on the scheduled date and time.
