The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has already announced the exam date for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET FEB 2026) by issuing a notification. Candidates are now awaiting the opening of applications for this exam, which may be accepted at any time by the CBSE.

The application form for this exam can only be filled out online by visiting the CBSE's official website, ctet.nic.in. No other forms will be accepted.

Eligibility for Paper 1 and Paper 2
This exam is conducted in two parts. Paper 1 is for classes 1 to 5, and Paper 2 is for classes 6 to 8. Therefore, the eligibility criteria for both are different.

To appear for CTET Paper 1, a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) or equivalent is required with 50% marks in the 12th grade. Additionally, in some cases, candidates must have a B.Ed. Degree along with a bachelor's degree.

To apply for CTET Paper 2 (classes 6 to 8), candidates must have a bachelor's degree and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) or equivalent.

Application Fee
CBSE charges different fees for this exam depending on the category. Candidates appearing for only one paper will have to deposit ₹1,000, and those appearing for both papers will have to deposit ₹1,200. Additionally, candidates belonging to the SC, ST, and differently-abled categories will have to pay ₹500 for applying for one paper and ₹600 for applying for both papers.

Exam to be held in February
According to the notification issued by CBSE, the CTET February 2026 exam will be conducted on a single date, February 8, 2026. Admit cards for the applied candidates will be made available for download a few days before the exam date.
