CTET 2026: There's a major update regarding the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) 2026, conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The application process for CTET 2026 has been completed, but due to technical glitches, a large number of candidates were unable to complete the registration process. The CBSE has identified over 1.61 lakh such candidates and announced that they will be given another opportunity to register. For this, the CBSE will open a special window for CTET registration. It is important to note that no new candidates will be able to register during this period.

Registration Process Ended on December 18
The CBSE started the registration process for CTET 2026 on November 27, 2025, inviting online applications from eligible candidates across the country. The last date for application was December 18. After the completion of the application process, the CBSE also provided an option for corrections in the registration.

CTET after a year, hence the second chance
The CBSE said that after the last date of registration, the board received several complaints stating that some candidates were unable to complete their registration. An investigation revealed that the registrations of 1,61,127 candidates remained incomplete and were not finally submitted. The CBSE said that this edition of CTET is being conducted after a gap of almost a year; therefore, the board has decided to give these candidates another opportunity to complete their applications in their best interest.

Apply through the Suvidha portal by December 30
To give another chance to the candidates who could not complete their registration for CTET 2026, the CBSE will open a special window from December 27, 11:00 AM to December 30, 2025 (11:59 PM). During this period, these candidates can complete their registration by visiting the CBSE's Suvidha portal. The CBSE has advised these candidates to verify their details and make necessary corrections during the final application submission process, as they will not be given any further opportunity to correct their details.

Over 26 lakh registrations
By the time the registration process for CTET 2026 was completed, 25,30,581 candidates had registered. On December 17, 3,53,218 candidates registered, while on the last day, December 18, 4,14,981 candidates completed their registration. Now, 1.6 lakh candidates are getting another chance to complete their registration. It is expected that after this, there will be a record number of over 26 lakh registrations for CTET 2026.
