What is the CSIR UGC NET exam?
This exam conducted by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) is a national level exam conducted by NTA. Its purpose is to select eligible candidates for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Lectureship/Assistant Professor (LS/AP) in India. CSIR NET is valid only for subjects related to the Faculty of Science and Technology.
Eligibility Criteria for CSIR UGC NET
Maximum age limit for JRF: 30 years (as on 1st date of July 2025)
For Lectureship/Assistant Professor: No upper age limit
Educational Qualification: M.Sc. or equivalent degree (minimum 55% marks) in the relevant subject from a recognized university.

CSIR UGC NET 2025 Exam Format
