The CSIR NET 2025 exam will be conducted in 2025. This exam determines eligibility for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Lectureship or Assistant Professor positions. It will be a computer-based test (CBT) conducted at various examination centers across the country.

What is the CSIR NET Exam Pattern?

Part A (General Aptitude)
This section is common for all subjects. It includes questions related to Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Ability, Data Interpretation, and Research Aptitude. There are usually 20 questions, out of which 15 need to be attempted. Each correct answer carries two marks. There is a 25 percent negative marking for incorrect answers.
Part B (Subject-Based)
The second part, Part B, consists of subject-specific questions based on the subject chosen by the candidate. The number of questions and marks vary depending on the subject. Negative marking is also applicable in this section.
Part C (Analytical and Higher-Order Thinking)
Part C is the most important and high-scoring section. It includes questions based on in-depth understanding, concept application, and problem-solving. There is no negative marking in this section.
