Computer Science Paper Leaked at AKTU; University Cancels Exam—Re-examination to be Held on This Date..
AKTU Computer Science Re-Exam Date: A major decision has been taken in Uttar Pradesh following reports of a paper leak during the B.Tech examinations conducted by Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU). The university has cancelled the examination paper for the 'Computer Networks' subject for the B.Tech Computer Science sixth semester. This decision was reached after the university received the report from the inquiry committee. Consequently, the examination for this subject—originally held on May 21—will now be re-conducted on June 5.
**Paper Went Viral on Social Media**
On May 21, AKTU conducted the B.Tech Computer Science sixth-semester examinations across 131 examination centers throughout the state. The examination was scheduled to run from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. During this period—at approximately 4:00 PM—the university received information that the examination paper for the 'Computer Networks' subject had gone viral on social media. Recognizing the gravity of the situation, the university administration immediately swung into action and initiated an inquiry.
**Inquiry Reveals Negligence by a College**
The University's Controller of Examinations, Prof. Deepak Nagariya, stated that the preliminary inquiry has revealed negligence on the part of a college located in Noida. The investigation established that the login ID and password credentials belonging to the college had been compromised. Subsequently, an unidentified individual utilized these credentials to download the examination paper and disseminate it across various internet media platforms. It was for this reason that the university decided to cancel the examination.
**Investigation Still Underway**
The AKTU administration has affirmed that the investigation into the matter is not yet complete. The inquiry committee is currently scrutinizing all documents, records, and digital data pertinent to this case. Should the investigation find the college to be at fault, strict disciplinary action will be taken against it. To oversee this inquiry, Vice-Chancellor Prof. J.P. Pandey has constituted a four-member committee, chaired by Pro-Vice-Chancellor Prof. Rajiv Kumar.
**How Are Examination Papers Sent Online?**
The Controller of Examinations explained that the university's examination system operates entirely through an online process. The examination paper is transmitted online to the respective colleges' ERP login portals approximately 30 to 40 minutes before the commencement of the examination. Subsequently, at the designated start time, the paper is automatically decrypted, allowing the Center Superintendent to download and print it using their specific login credentials and password. The university is now preparing to make this entire process more secure than ever before, ensuring that such incidents do not recur in the future.
**Major Clue Unearthed at Ghaziabad Center**
During the investigation, several chits were recovered from an examinee at an examination center in Ghaziabad. Almost all the questions written on these chits matched those in the actual question paper. Consequently, suspicions regarding a paper leak intensified, and the scope of the investigation was expanded.
**Examination Protocols to Become Even Stricter**
Following the paper leak incident, AKTU is now gearing up to further fortify its digital examination system. The university states that new security protocols will be implemented to ensure that the processes involving paper downloading, user logins, and printing remain completely secure in the future, thereby preventing any form of malpractice.
