CM Shri Schools' entrance exam schedule changed, now this exam will be held on 13th September
The entrance exam of Delhi Government's CM Shri Schools will now be held on 13th September 2025 instead of 6th September. This exam is for classes 6, 7, and 8, which will have OMR-based questions. Admit cards will be available from 10th September. These schools are based on modern facilities and NEP 2020.
The Delhi government has changed the schedule of the entrance exam for admission to its new and modern CM Shri schools. Now this exam will be held on 13th September instead of the earlier date of 6th September. According to the Directorate of Education (DoE), the admit cards for this test will be available from 10th September, which were earlier scheduled to be released on 23rd August.
Exam Mode and Time
This entrance exam will be for classes 6, 7 and 8, which will be in OMR (Optical Mark Recognition) format in both Hindi and English languages. It will have questions related to Hindi, English, General Awareness, Mental Ability and Mathematical Ability. The exam will be of 150 minutes i.e. 2.5 hours. Children with special needs will be given extra time. The Directorate of Education said that the final list of selected students will be released on September 10 and the admission process will be completed by mid-September.
Who can take the exam?
Half the seats in CM Shri Schools are reserved for students of government and government-aided schools. These include students of Delhi Government, Delhi Municipal Corporation, New Delhi Municipal Council, Kendriya Vidyalaya and Navodaya Vidyalaya. Apart from this, SC, ST, OBC (non-creamy layer) and children with special needs will get 5 percent relaxation in admission.
Features of CM Shri Schools
CM Shri School is a new initiative of the Delhi government, which aims to further strengthen government education. These schools were announced in the Delhi Budget 2025-26, in which a provision of Rs 100 crore has been made for it. These schools are being built on the lines of PM Shri Schools of the Central Government and will be run as per the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. What will be the method of study in these schools?
Study in these schools will be according to NEP 2020 and National Curriculum Framework 2023. Here children will be taught through bookish knowledge as well as experience and question-answer. After the closure of Delhi Board of School Education, these schools will be affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
