CM SHRI Schools Admission Test 2025: New Schedule: When and What?

The Directorate of Education (DoE) of Delhi said that the admit cards can be downloaded from September 10. Earlier, these were to be released on 23 August. The admission test for classes 6, 7, and 8 will now be held on September 13. The test will be in bilingual OMR, i.e., Hindi and English. It will have questions from Hindi, English, General Awareness, Mental Ability, and Numerical Aptitude. The test will be of 150 minutes (2.5 hours). Children with special needs will get extra time. The list of final selected students will be announced on September 10, and admission will be completed by mid-September.

CM SHRI Schools 2025: What are CM Shri Schools?

CM Shri Schools is a new initiative of the Delhi government that aims to strengthen government education. These schools are being built on the lines of the central government's PM Shri Schools and will run according to the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. A fund of Rs 100 crore has been kept for these schools in the Delhi Budget of 2025-26. The special thing about these schools is that they will be high-tech and modern. These include AI-powered libraries and smart classrooms (with augmented and virtual reality tools), a biometric attendance system and robotics lab, support to the environment through solar energy and zero-waste practices, etc.

Who can take the test?

Students of classes 6, 7, and 8 can take part in this test. 50% seats are reserved in these schools. These seats are reserved for students of government and government-aided schools like DoE, MCD, NDMC, Kendriya Vidyalaya, and Navodaya Vidyalaya. Apart from this, SC, ST, OBC (non-creamy layer), and children with special needs will get 5% relaxation in eligibility.

What will be the method of study?

The syllabus of CM Shri Schools will be based on NEP 2020 and the National Curriculum Framework 2023. Here, the study will be experiential and inquiry-based; that is, children will learn more from books in a practical and fun way. The Delhi Board of School Education is now being removed, so these schools will be affiliated with CBSE.

Why are these schools special?

High-tech facilities: Smart classrooms, robotics lab, and AI library will prepare children for the future.

Opportunity for all: Priority to children of government schools and exemption to students of the special category.

Environment-friendly: Schools will also support the environment through solar energy and zero waste.
