Shubham explained that the application form requires students to list three preferences. These should be filled out based on your place of residence. For instance, a student from Delhi should list Delhi as their first preference, followed by locations that are easily accessible, such as Noida and Faridabad. It is crucial to avoid errors when filling in these preferences. Since the CLAT exam takes place in December and admissions occur around June or July, submitting up-to-date certificates is essential.

He also noted that over the past three to four years, there has been a growing interest in CLAT among students from all academic streams. Exams like NEET and IIT-JEE have become increasingly crowded, whereas law—and CLAT specifically—offers a neutral path. Students from diverse backgrounds—including Science, Home Science, Mathematics, and Commerce—can appear for CLAT. Cultivate the habit of reading newspapers daily; this will improve your reading skills and also help develop a habit of writing, while keeping your general knowledge up to date. He also noted that the mathematics section involves basic-level questions, so you should certainly pay attention to it as well. Do not focus on counting the hours spent studying; if you aim to secure admission to a National Law University, your preparation must be thorough. You need to master all these subjects and study each one of them.
