CBSE to Launch 14 New Teacher Training Programs Under NEP 2020 to Strengthen Modern Education

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has taken a significant step towards implementing the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 by introducing 14 new Capacity Building Programs (CBPs) for teachers. These programs aim to empower teachers with modern teaching strategies, ensure continuous professional growth, and improve classroom outcomes for students.
Official Launch at National Teacher Conference in Patna
The new training modules were officially unveiled at the National Teacher Conference held in Patna. According to CBSE, these initiatives will mark a new chapter in teacher development by equipping educators with practical skills, innovative tools, and structured session plans. The modules are designed to deepen subject knowledge while making teaching more engaging, interactive, and learner-centric.
Focus on Effective and Inclusive Learning
The CBPs focus on building teachers’ capacity to adopt innovative teaching methods aligned with NEP 2020’s vision. By strengthening teacher skills, CBSE aims to create classrooms where students gain conceptual clarity, critical thinking abilities, and holistic development. Teachers will also receive support to make lessons simpler, attractive, and more inclusive.
Programs to be Rolled Out from October
CBSE has instructed all its affiliated schools to encourage teachers to participate in these programs. The training sessions will be conducted under the “Prashikshan Triveni” initiative of CBSE’s Centre for Excellence (CSE). The rollout of these CBPs is scheduled to begin in October 2025. Each module is carefully designed to meet specific academic and pedagogical needs.
Key Training Modules Announced
Here are some of the major CBPs included under this initiative:

Strengthening Teacher Capacity for Modern Classrooms
The introduction of these CBPs reflects CBSE’s broader vision of transforming teaching practices in line with NEP 2020. With an emphasis on competency-based education, value-driven learning, and creative teaching techniques, the initiative ensures teachers are better equipped to guide students in a rapidly changing educational environment.
These programs also highlight CBSE’s focus on holistic learning outcomes, ensuring that teachers go beyond rote learning methods and nurture analytical, creative, and problem-solving abilities among students.
A Step Towards Future-Ready Education
Through this move, CBSE is not only enhancing the quality of education but also strengthening the role of teachers as facilitators of knowledge. With 14 new structured programs, teachers will gain access to innovative resources and modern teaching methodologies. This will help create classrooms that are engaging, inclusive, and future-ready, in line with the aspirations of NEP 2020.
