CBSE has decided to conduct a completely on-screen evaluation of Class 12 answer sheets this year. Instead of checking copies through the traditional method, examiners will now conduct digital evaluation through computers. To ensure smooth implementation, the Board has issued detailed instructions to the principals of all affiliated schools to provide prior training and practice to teachers to avoid any technical or procedural issues during the actual evaluation.
Practice Arrangements on the OSM Portal
The Board has activated a special practice link on the On-Screen Marking (OSM) portal. Principals have been instructed to ensure that teachers log in through their OASIS (Online Affiliated Schools Information System) IDs and complete the practice modules available on the OSM portal. This practice session has been made mandatory to familiarize teachers with the digital evaluation process.

CBSE has sent the OSM portal URL, evaluators' login IDs, and passwords to the email IDs registered on the OSS portal of the respective schools. It is now the responsibility of school heads to ensure that all teachers of grades 11 and 12 log in to the portal and complete the exercises before the scheduled time. The Board will monitor this entire process and ensure that the assigned tasks are completed on time.
Digital Evaluation of Over 1 Crore Copies
According to information shared by the Board, approximately 32 crore pages of over 1 crore answer sheets of grade 12 will be evaluated onscreen this year. According to the Controller of Examinations, this system will significantly reduce both the time and cost of transporting answer sheets. Teachers will also be able to conduct evaluation work from their school's computer lab, making the process more transparent and streamlined.
Examination Schedule
The CBSE 10th board exams will be held from February 17 to March 11, while the 12th grade exams will run from February 17 to April 10, 2026. After the exams are over, the 12th-grade answer sheets will be evaluated digitally. However, the checking of class 10th copies will be done as per the earlier traditional method.
