Single Girl Child Merit Scholarship: CBSE has opened online applications for the Single Girl Child Merit Scholarship Scheme. This scholarship scheme is specifically for meritorious girls who have passed Class 10 from the CBSE board and are now pursuing their studies in Classes 11 and 12. The last date for applications is October 23, 2025.

The CBSE Single Girl Child Merit Scholarship Scheme aims to promote girls' education and encourage families who prioritize the education of their only daughter. To qualify for this scholarship, girls must have scored at least 70% in the Class 10 board exam and pursue further studies in Classes 11 and 12.

This year, the scheme is open in two categories:
Scholarship 2025: For girls who passed Class 10 in 2025 and are now studying in Class 11.

Renewal 2024: For girls who received this scholarship last year and wish to continue.

What are the eligibility criteria?
The student must be the only child of their parents.

Score 70% or more in 10th grade.
The study must be in a CBSE-affiliated school.
Tuition fees must not exceed ₹2,500 per month until 10th grade. For 11th and 12th grades, this limit is ₹3,000 per month (up to ₹6,000 exemption is available for NRI students).
Family annual income must not exceed ₹8 lakh.
Good conduct and regular attendance are also required.

What are the benefits?
Selected girls will receive a scholarship of up to ₹500 per month. This scholarship will last for a maximum of two years. After receiving the scholarship for the first time, it will be renewed only if they score 70% or more in 11th grade and are promoted to 12th grade.

How to apply?
The application must be submitted online only. The school where the student is studying will verify the application. If the application is incomplete or not verified by the school, it will not be accepted. Parents will also need to upload their income affidavit (on notarized stamp paper) and fee slips during the application process.
