CBSE has released a new parenting calendar for the 2026-27 academic session. The initiative aims to bring schools and parents together to foster the holistic development of children and ensure a better learning environment for students.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has launched the Parenting Calendar for the upcoming 2026-27 academic session. This initiative goes beyond academics, aiming to strengthen children’s mental, social, and emotional development. The Board believes that when schools and families collaborate, children’s self-confidence grows, and their learning experience improves. According to CBSE, the Parenting Calendar was first introduced during the 2025-26 session and received a positive response from schools, teachers, and parents. Taking this feedback into account, several new changes have been made to the calendar this time to enhance its utility.

Special Focus on Child Development

The new Parenting Calendar includes various activities that require active parental participation. These activities aim to improve not only the children’s academics but also their behavior, mental health, self-confidence, and social skills. The Board encourages parents to be involved in their children’s learning process throughout the year, rather than just during exams or result announcements.

Updated to Meet New Needs

This edition of the calendar incorporates topics such as adapting to the changing educational landscape. Additionally, emphasis has been placed on understanding the needs of children with diverse abilities and providing them with better support. It also recommends organizing workshops and awareness programs for parents to help them better understand their children’s needs.

Appeal Made to Schools

The CBSE has asked all its affiliated schools to regularly implement the ‘Parenting Calendar’ and conduct the activities outlined in it throughout the academic session. The Board states that this will strengthen communication between schools and parents, providing children with a positive and supportive environment alongside their studies. The Board also believes that children today face various challenges beyond academics; therefore, if families and schools work together, children can receive better support at every level.
