CBSE Initiative: Principals of schools affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with skills-based and experiential learning and emerging educational trends at prestigious institutions across the country. For this purpose, the CBSE will organize exposure visits for principals to select institutions in India.

These visits will be held from January 22nd to January 30th, and principals will need to register to participate. In line with the National Education Policy 2020, the CBSE is emphasizing the promotion of skills and vocational education in its affiliated schools. In this direction, the board launched an exposure visit program for principals two years ago, under which renowned institutions across the country are selected periodically. This time, five institutions from across the country have been chosen.

The selected institutions include Atlas SkillTech University in Mumbai, Lovely Professional University in Punjab, Tata Institute of Social Sciences in Assam, Birla Institute of Technology in Jharkhand, and Footwear Design and Development Institute in West Bengal.
Exposure Visits for Principals and Focus on Skills Education
The objective of these exposure visits is to directly familiarize school principals with best practices, help them integrate skills and vocational education into mainstream learning, and develop an understanding of interactive and experiential teaching methodologies. The CBSE has clarified that only those principals who have not previously participated in an exposure visit will be eligible to apply. Confirmation of participation via email will be mandatory.

CBSE textbooks for skills education, the Kaushal Bodh series, are available in print. They can also be downloaded from the NCERT website as well as the CBSE academic website. It is worth noting that the CBSE has previously clarified that after implementing skills education, schools should organize a skills fair at the end of the year so that students can showcase the skills they have learned through their projects at the fair.
