CBSE: Now the burden of college fees will be lightened, and registration for this scholarship scheme of CBSE has started

CBSE has started applications for the Scholarship Scheme 2025-26 for college and university students. Eligible students will get help ranging from Rs 10,000 to Rs 20,000 annually.
CBSE has started the application process for its Central Sector Scholarship Scheme (CSSS) for the academic session 2025-26. Under this scheme, help is given to those students who are financially weak and want to make their future in higher education.
Under this scheme, the last date for online application for both new scholarships and renewal of old scholarships has been fixed as 31 October 2025. Interested students can apply by visiting the National Scholarship Portal scholarships.gov.in.
How much amount will be received?
Under this scheme, students will get the help of Rs 1,000 every month i.e. Rs 10,000 annually for the first three years. For the fourth and fifth year, this amount will increase to Rs 2,000 per month i.e. Rs 20,000 annually.
Who can apply?
Should have more than 80% marks in class 12th.
Age should be between 18 to 25 years.
Family annual income should be less than Rs 6 lakh.
Should not be taking advantage of any other scholarship.
Essential conditions for scholarship renewal
It is necessary to score more than 60% marks every year.
There should be at least 75% attendance.
The student's behavior should be disciplined.
Beneficial for both UG and PG
This scheme is valid not only for undergraduate (UG) but also for postgraduate (PG) students. Students can avail it for a maximum of five years. CBSE has clarified that the application must be checked by the institutions within the time limit, otherwise the application will be considered invalid. 50% of the scholarships will be reserved for female students. Under subject wise reservation, scholarships for Science:Commerce:Humanities will be distributed in the ratio of 3:2:1.

Scheduled Tribe (ST) – 7.5%
Other Backward Class (OBC) – 27%
