On February 20, 2026, the DMRC announced that students will be given priority access to metro stations during exam days. This privilege will be available to students with valid CBSE admit cards.

The CBSE board exams for Class 10 and 12 began on February 17, 2026, and will continue until April 10, 2026. These exams are crucial for millions of students across the country, including Delhi-NCR. Thousands of students in Delhi use the Delhi Metro every morning to reach their exam centers. The metro is extremely crowded during the morning commute, leaving students worried about being late. Often, long queues can lead to lost time and frustration.

Keeping this problem in mind, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has made special arrangements to help students. The DMRC made an official announcement on February 20, 2026. He said that during exam days, students will be given priority at metro stations. This facility will be available to students with a valid CBSE admit card.

What will be the benefit to students?

According to the DMRC, this process will facilitate students' first-time security checks. At metro stations, where general public lines are lined up for frisking and bag checks, students will be given priority access. CISF personnel will check students' admit cards prioritized. This will allow students to enter faster and save time.

Convenience in Getting Tickets

Students will also benefit from ticketing. Students will be given tickets first at both the ticket counters (customer care) and the automatic ticket machines (TOMs) at metro stations. They simply need to show their admit card, then they will be put in front of the queue. This will prevent ticketing delays and allow students to reach the platform without interruption.

DMRC Issues Special Instructions

It is reported that the DMRC and CISF will work together to manage the crowds at the stations. In fact, due to the large number of students arriving during exam times, special instructions have been given to the staff. Special announcements will also be made at metro stations, stating that students are being given priority and that other passengers will be requested to cooperate.

This appeal will be made to passengers

DMRC has appealed to general passengers to allow students to pass during exam days. If a student asks for help by showing their admit card, they should cooperate. This will ensure that no student misses their exam. DMRC says that millions of students travel by metro every year. This time too, approximately 43-46 lakh students are appearing for the CBSE board exams. Metro is the fastest and cheapest mode of transport in Delhi-NCR, making this facility very important for students.
