CBSE Exams: The CBSE Board has decided to conduct the class 10th examination twice a year from the academic session 2026 next year. This draft has been approved by CBSE. The first phase of the 10th examination will be conducted in February-March. After this, the second phase will be held in May 2026.
According to the draft released by CBSE, the first phase of the examination will be held from 17 February to 6 March. The second phase examination will be held from 5 May to 20 May. A board official said that both examinations will be conducted on the entire syllabus. Students will be allotted the same examination centers in both the phases of examination.
There will be no supplementary examination.
CBSE officials said that the first and second phases of board examinations will also work as supplementary examinations. Meaning that after this CBSE will not conduct any supplementary or special examination for the students. CBSE has also informed us that the fee for filling out the board exam form will also be increased.
Exams for all languages will be held on the same day.
According to the information given by CBSE, there will be two groups for all subjects except Science, Maths, Social Science, Hindi, and English. There will be a group for regional and foreign languages. There will be a group for the remaining subjects. The exams for Science, Maths, Social Science, Hindi, and English subjects will be held on the scheduled date, as it happens now. The exams for all languages will be held on the same day.
The marksheet will not be available.
According to the information given by CBSE, no certificate/marksheet will be available after the results of the first phase of the board exams (February-March) are released. However, the scorecard will be available on DigiLocker. If students do not appear in the second phase of the exam, then admission to class 11th will be given through this. CBSE has informed that practical and internal exams will be conducted only once.
Will be able to choose the best marks
Students appearing for both the phases of CBSE 10th board exams will be able to choose the one with the best score among the two. It has been further said that students who fail in Phase-1 board exam will also be able to take admission on the 11th. However the admission will be finalized after the result of the Phase-2 board exam is declared. It will be necessary to pass in it.
