CBSE 12th Result 2026: The CBSE—or Central Board of Secondary Education—has released the Class 12 results. This year, a total of 85.20% of students have passed, although a slight decline in the pass percentage has been recorded compared to the previous year. How did the results turn out this time?
In 2025, a total of 1,704,367 candidates were registered; of these, 1,692,794 appeared for the examination, and 1,496,307 were successful. The pass percentage for that year stood at 88.39%. In contrast, in 2026, the number of registered candidates rose to 1,780,365; out of these, 1,768,968 appeared, and 1,507,109 were successful.
Girls Deliver a Stellar Performance
In both the 2025 and 2026 results, girls have consistently outperformed boys. In 2026, the pass percentage for girls was 88.86%, while that for boys was 82.13%. Similarly, in 2025, girls took the lead with a pass percentage of 91.64%, whereas boys stood at 85.70%. The results for transgender candidates remained at 100% in both years. Thus, girls have performed approximately 6.73% better than boys.
