CBSE Class 12 Result Controversy: Student Divisha stated that she received only 21 marks out of 80 in Mathematics—a result that was unprecedented during her pre-board examinations. The students have leveled serious allegations against the CBSE.

CBSE Class 12 Result Controversy: Protesting against the CBSE's On-Screen Marking (OSM) process, several students gathered outside the National War Memorial and demanded free re-checking of their answer sheets. During the demonstration, the Delhi Police detained approximately 7–8 students. Furthermore, the police also confiscated the posters and banners carried by the students.

The students maintain that the evaluation of their board examination answer sheets was not conducted properly and that charging exorbitant fees for re-checking is unjust. In response to the protest, the police informed the students that demonstrations are not permitted at this specific location and that they would be escorted to Jantar Mantar. The students have expressed their indignation regarding the actions taken by both the CBSE and the police.

Students Being Penalized for CBSE's Errors

Ishan, a student participating in the protest, remarked that while the fault lies with the CBSE, it is the students who are being forced to bear the consequences. He noted that previously, the re-checking of an entire answer sheet cost ₹500, a fee that has now been hiked to ₹700. He argued that had proper "step marking" (awarding marks for intermediate steps in problem-solving) been implemented, such a large number of students would not have failed in Mathematics. Meanwhile, Divisha revealed that although she has qualified for the JEE, she is unable to meet the eligibility criteria due to her low scores in the board examinations. She reiterated that she received a mere 21 marks out of 80 in Mathematics—a result completely at odds with her performance in the pre-board exams. She also mentioned that the students had sent emails to the CBSE regarding their grievances but received no response.

Students Receive Low Scores in Multiple Subjects

Gunjan stated that in subjects such as Mathematics, Accountancy, and Business Studies, the marks obtained were significantly lower compared to those secured in the pre-board examinations. Pulkit reported that he received only 15 marks out of 80 in Mathematics. They state that they have already secured admission to their advanced courses and have even paid the fees; however, their future now hangs in the balance. They asserted that the CBSE should issue a public apology regarding this matter. Amit remarked that many students are suffering from mental stress due to poor marking, claiming that some students have even gone so far as to commit suicide. They contend that marks awarded in several subjects—including Physics and Chemistry—were significantly lower than expected, making re-checking an unavoidable necessity.

Akshay Raj pointed out that the fee for re-checking is exorbitant, with separate charges being levied for every individual question; he alleged that this entire process constitutes an injustice against the students. The students claim that a large number of students in the Science stream have failed, and the entire process does not appear to be fair. The protesting students declared that they would continue their daily demonstrations until they receive a satisfactory response. A Delhi Police bus arrived at the scene, and the students were seated inside and removed from the premises.
