CBSE Class 12 Re-evaluation Portal Down: Application Process, Scheduled to Begin on June 1, Halted as Website Enters Maintenance Mode..
The Central Board of Secondary Education's (CBSE) inefficient administration has compounded the difficulties faced by students and parents. Despite CBSE's claims regarding reforms, the system shows no signs of getting back on track. The latest issue revolves around the re-evaluation process for Class 12 answer sheets. While claiming to have rectified its website, CBSE had announced that the application portal for the re-evaluation of Class 12 answer sheets would go live on June 1st. However, as the afternoon of June 1st draws to a close, the CBSE Class 12 re-evaluation application portal remains stuck in 'maintenance mode.' Consequently, students' anxieties have escalated.
Let us delve into the details of this entire matter. We will explore how CBSE's administrative inefficiencies have exacerbated the troubles of students and parents, and understand just how crucial it is for the re-evaluation process of CBSE Class 12 answer sheets to be conducted promptly.
**Process Originally Scheduled to Begin on June 29th**
CBSE had initially scheduled the re-evaluation process for Class 12 answer sheets to commence on June 29th. Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan had made an announcement to this effect following a controversy surrounding the provision of scanned answer sheets. However, CBSE subsequently issued a fresh directive stating that the application portal would be launched on June 1st. The Board explained that the decision to open the portal on June 1st was taken to ensure a transparent and error-free process.
**Students Faced Difficulties in Obtaining Scanned Answer Sheets**
Students encountered a myriad of difficulties while attempting to obtain scanned copies of their CBSE Class 12 answer sheets. CBSE had launched the application portal for this purpose on May 19th, with the deadline for applications set for May 22nd; however, on the very first day, the portal remained non-functional throughout the entire day. Consequently, CBSE extended the application deadline to May 23rd. Yet, on the second day as well, the portal remained down during the morning hours, and the application process only resumed after 2:00 PM. Even then, students continued to face persistent issues regarding the inability to complete their fee payments. Despite this, students continued to face difficulties in obtaining scanned copies. For instance, students lodged complaints regarding alterations in their answer sheets, the scanning of blurred copies, and missing answer sheets. Furthermore, the portal remained non-functional on several occasions. However, the CBSE extended the application deadline multiple times. Subsequently, the Union Ministry of Education acknowledged these issues and assured students of its assistance. This time around, the CBSE has implemented On-Screen Marking (OSM).
**Over 400,000 Students Requested Photocopies of Answer Sheets**
On May 26, the CBSE announced that it had received a total of 404,319 applications for scanned copies of answer sheets, with these students collectively applying for photocopies of 1,131,961 answer sheets. Meanwhile, the CBSE digitally provided copies of 898,214 answer sheets to the students.
