CBSE Class 10 Second Board Exam 2026: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced that the second phase of the Class 10 Board Examinations for 2026 will commence on May 15. Conducted under the new two-tier examination system, this second examination will continue until May 21, 2026. The first paper of the examination will be Mathematics, while the final examination will be held for the Social Science subject.

According to the schedule released by the Board, all examinations will be conducted in a single shift, beginning at 10:30 AM. Depending on the subject, the duration of the examination will extend until 12:30 PM or 1:30 PM.

Students to Get an Opportunity to Improve Their Performance
CBSE has implemented a new examination system starting from the year 2026. Under this system, appearing in the first Board examination has been made mandatory for all students, whereas the second examination is optional. The objective is to provide students with an additional opportunity to improve their marks without losing an academic year.

According to the Board, students can improve their scores by retaking examinations in a maximum of three subjects, including Science, Mathematics, Social Science, and Language subjects. The best scores obtained from the two examinations will be included in the final marksheet and certificate.

Results of the First Examination Released on April 15
CBSE announced the results for the first phase of the Class 10 Board Examinations for this year on April 15, 2026. A total pass percentage of 93.70% was recorded in the first examination.

Instructions Issued for Examination Centers
The Board has also issued several important guidelines for students appearing in the second examination. Candidates will not be granted entry into the examination center after 10:00 AM. Students have been advised to reach the examination center well in advance, keeping traffic and weather conditions in mind.

It is mandatory for students appearing in the examination to wear their school uniforms. Additionally, they must carry their school identity cards and CBSE admit cards with them.

Ban on Mobile Phones and Electronic Devices
CBSE has imposed a complete ban on the use of any electronic devices, including mobile phones, within the examination centers. During the examination, only prescribed stationery items will be permitted.

Furthermore, the Board has warned students against spreading rumors or sharing content related to the examination on social media platforms such as WhatsApp, Telegram, YouTube, and X.

**Results Expected by the End of June**
The Board has announced that the results for the second examination will be declared by the end of June 2026. Students who do not appear for the second examination will be eligible to seek admission to Class 11 solely based on their results from the first examination. The results will be made available on the DigiLocker platform.

CBSE has clarified that the final pass certificates and merit certificates will be issued only after the results of the second examination have been declared.
