CBSE Class 10 Results 2026: Not Happy with Your Marks? You Will Get a Second Chance—Find Out When..
CBSE Class 10 Results 2026: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has declared the results for the Class 10 examinations. Students can check and download their results by visiting the official CBSE websites: results.cbse.nic.in and cbse.gov.in. Additionally, results can also be accessed via DigiLocker, SMS, and the UMANG app.
If, after viewing your results, you are not satisfied with your marks, there is absolutely no need to worry. CBSE is offering you an opportunity to improve your scores. This time, CBSE has introduced a major change to its examination system, under which the Class 10 examinations were conducted in two phases. Under this new 'Two-Board System,' students will receive an additional opportunity to enhance their performance.
**When will the second examination be held?** Following the first phase, the second Board examination is scheduled to take place between May 15 and June 1, 2026. This examination is optional; that is, only those students who are dissatisfied with their current marks—and wish to improve them—may appear for it.
**How many subjects can be attempted?** The Board has clarified that in the second examination, students may appear to improve their scores in a maximum of three subjects. This presents a golden opportunity for students who narrowly missed out on achieving good marks.
**Failed in 2-3 subjects?** Meanwhile, students who have failed in two subjects have been placed in the 'Compartment' category. Such students, too, can take advantage of the opportunity to pass by appearing for the second examination. However, if a student fails in three or more subjects, they will be required to retake the examinations during the next main examination cycle—specifically, in 2027.
