The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the dates for the Class 10 and 12 practical examinations for the 2026-27 academic year. For schools following a winter academic session, practical examinations, project work, and internal assessments will commence on November 9. The Board has issued specific guidelines to these schools regarding the conduct of these assessments. Responsibilities for the schools include appointing external examiners, uploading student marks, and submitting photographs of the examinations.

According to CBSE directives, practical examinations, project evaluations, and internal assessments for Classes 10 and 12 in schools with a winter academic session will be held from November 9 to December 19, 2026. The Board has clarified that this schedule applies exclusively to schools that observe winter vacations. A separate notice will be issued for schools following the standard academic session.

**Only students included in the LOC are eligible**
The Board has instructed schools to prepare a final list of students before the practical examinations. Only those students whose names appear in the online List of Candidates (LOC) will be permitted to participate in the practical examinations, project evaluations, and internal assessments. Schools are required to complete all assessments and upload the students' marks online within the stipulated timeframe.

**Separate sessions required for more than 30 students**
To ensure transparency and uniformity in the conduct of the examinations, the CBSE has implemented specific protocols. Schools with more than 30 students appearing for practical examinations or project evaluations must conduct two or three sessions per day. The number of sessions will be determined based on the facilities and capacity available in the school's laboratories.

**Mandatory submission of group photographs for each batch**
To monitor the evaluation process, the Board has also mandated that schools upload photographs. The CBSE will provide an app link for this purpose. During the practical examinations for each batch, schools must take a group photograph and upload it via the provided link. Furthermore, for the appointment of external examiners and observers, schools should contact the respective regional offices as needed. The internal assessment for Class 10 will be conducted only once. It is mandatory for all schools to adhere to the prescribed timeline.
