CBSE: CBSE will keep a close eye on every student, CCTV cameras will be installed in all schools..

CBSE has implemented a new rule to ensure the safety of students, under which all schools will have to compulsorily install CCTV cameras. The board has also issued a guideline in this regard. The Central Board of Secondary Education has amended the bylaw and made it mandatory for schools to create a safe environment for children in schools and also ensure their safety.
As per the guidelines issued by the board, all CBSE-affiliated schools will now have to implement a CCTV system that makes real-time audio-visual recording. The recording will be secured for at least 15 days and will also be kept for review by the authorities if required.
Where will CCTV cameras be installed in schools?
CCTV cameras will be installed at all the entry and exit gates of the school, lobby, corridors, stairs, all classrooms, laboratories, library, canteen, store room, and playground. High-resolution CCTV cameras with audio-visual facility will be installed in other common areas except toilets and washrooms, which have real-time audio-visual recording for security in schools.
Children's safety is CBSE's priority.
In the instructions issued, CBSE said that according to the Manual on Child Safety in Schools, NCPCR, school safety is defined as creating a safe environment for children from their homes to their schools and back. This includes safety from any kind of abuse, violence, psycho-social issues, disaster: natural and man-made, fire, and transportation.
The board has directed that everyone in the school has a role in ensuring a good, healthy, and safe environment within the school. Be it teachers, assistants with special needs, visitors, contractors, or students themselves. Safety of students is one of the top responsibilities of any school, and it is important to ensure that students get a safe and harmonious environment in the school.
Schools will be able to monitor their campus.
The board has further directed that schools can continuously monitor their entire campus by installing CCTV cameras at various marked places on their campus. This instruction has been sent to the principals and managers of all schools affiliated with CBSE. It is necessary for the schools to fully follow the security measures to maintain their affiliation with the board.
