The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has claimed that a major cyberattack launched against its website was successfully thwarted. According to the Board, a Denial of Service (DoS) attack involving 3.8 million packets was launched targeting the website on Wednesday afternoon; however, technical teams intervened in time to prevent it. Despite the cyberattack, the Board's online services remained operational, and by 9:30 PM on Wednesday, over 56,000 applications for the verification and re-evaluation of answer sheets had been received.

**Portal Under Constant Surveillance**
In an update shared on the social media platform 'X', the CBSE stated that its technical teams are continuously monitoring the functionality of the portal. Additionally, necessary improvements are being implemented within the system to ensure a smoother and faster experience for students. The Board has appealed to students and parents to rely solely on official CBSE notifications.

**Payment Gateways from Multiple Banks Available**
The CBSE informed that payment gateways from the State Bank of India (SBI), Canara Bank, Bank of Baroda, and Indian Bank are available on the re-evaluation and verification portal for fee payments. The Board clarified that students don't need to hold an account with these specific banks to deposit fees; they can make online payments using an account from any bank.

According to SBI, over 40,000 successful transactions have been processed through its payment gateway so far. Meanwhile, Bank of Baroda has successfully processed over 7,500 payments, Indian Bank over 5,000, and Canara Bank over 4,000.

**Previous Cyberattack Attempt**
On Tuesday, the CBSE had also reported that certain malicious elements had attempted to disrupt the re-evaluation portal. According to the Board, 1.5 million hits were recorded on the portal within a span of just two minutes, alongside over 100,000 attempts at unauthorized file access. However, thanks to robust security protocols, these attempts were also successfully thwarted, and there was no significant impact on student services. **Improvements Implemented Following Student Complaints**
In recent days, numerous students and parents have lodged complaints regarding technical glitches, payment failures, and login-related issues on the portal. Consequently, the CBSE has implemented several improvements based on student feedback. The Board stated that the session time limit has been extended to enhance the user experience, and the stability of the portal has also been improved.

**Applications Accepted Until June 6**
On June 2, the CBSE launched an online portal for the verification of errors in scanned copies of answer sheets and for the re-evaluation of answers. This facility is available exclusively to those students who have previously obtained scanned copies of their evaluated answer sheets. Students may submit their applications until midnight on June 6. No applications—whether online or offline—will be accepted after the stipulated deadline.

**What is the Application Fee?**
According to the Board, a fee of ₹100 per answer sheet has been prescribed for the verification of errors within scanned answer sheets. Meanwhile, a fee of ₹25 per question is applicable for the re-evaluation of specific questions. Students are advised to carefully select all subjects and questions before applying, as no modifications to the submitted information will be possible once the "Freeze and Proceed to Payment" button has been clicked.

**Aadhaar Verification Mandatory**
For security reasons, the CBSE has implemented an Aadhaar-based verification system. Students who do not possess an Aadhaar card may utilize the Aadhaar number of their parents, guardians, or a relative. The Board stated that the application process is entirely digital, and an application will be deemed valid only upon the successful completion of the online fee payment. To simplify the application process, the CBSE has also released a detailed visual guide and a tutorial video. The Board further stated that information regarding the results will be made available to students once the re-evaluation and verification processes have been completed.
