CBSE Board Exam 2026: Practical exams will be held in these CBSE schools in November, start preparing now..

CBSE Board Exam 2026: An important update for students preparing for the CBSE Board Exams 2026. The Central Board of Secondary Education has released the practical exam schedule for winter-bound schools. Winter-bound schools are closed during the winter, so their exams are held earlier. Practical exams for classes 10th and 12th in these schools will begin on November 6th. Students and schools can start their preparations based on the CBSE practical exam schedule.
Schools located in areas such as Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, Meghalaya, and Darjeeling close for the long winter vacation. Practical exams for these winter-bound schools will be held between November 6th and December 14th, 2025. The Board has issued several strict guidelines for the examinations. These guidelines ensure transparency and fairness in the examination process. All students, teachers, and school principals are required to follow these guidelines.
CBSE Guidelines for Winter-Bound Schools
The CBSE Board has issued important guidelines for winter-bound schools:
1. CBSE Practical Exam Dates
Start Date: Practical exams will begin on November 6, 2025.
End Date: Practical exams for these schools must be completed by December 14, 2025.
Schools must ensure they complete all practical and internal assessments within this deadline.
2. Mark Uploading Process
Practical and internal assessment marks must be uploaded online by December 15, 2025. The mark uploading process will begin on November 6, 2025. This will ensure that there are no delays in submitting marks after the completion of the exams. The Board has warned that uploading marks after the deadline will not be permitted under any circumstances.
3. Supervisor and Internal Examiner
CBSE practical examinations will be conducted only under the supervision of an external examiner appointed by the Board. Subject teachers in schools will act as internal examiners. This will prevent any irregularities in the evaluation and ensure the entire process remains fair.
4. Maintenance of Records and Certificates
Schools must preserve all records related to practical examinations (such as evaluation sheets, attendance sheets, and other relevant documents) to prove the identity of students. The Board has clarified that all relevant records, including group photographs taken during the examination, must be preserved until the results of the main examination are declared in January 2026. The Board may request these records for verification at any time.
5. Rules for Absent Students
If a student is absent from a practical examination, they will be marked as Absent. If a student is not allowed to appear in the examination, they will be marked as Not Eligible. Do not leave any column blank while uploading marks.
