Important news has emerged for millions of students across the country. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued a major update regarding the Class 10th and 12th board examinations to be held in 2026. The board has changed the dates of some subjects' exams that were scheduled for March 3, 2026. In this regard, CBSE has issued a notification on its official website cbse.gov.in to inform students and parents.
According to CBSE, the dates of the examinations that were previously scheduled for March 3, 2026, have been revised due to administrative reasons. The Class 10th exam will now be held on March 11, 2026. The new date for the Class 12th exam has been set as April 10, 2026.
The board has also clarified that all other examinations will be conducted according to the previously scheduled timetable.
Information to reach students and parents
CBSE has appealed to all affiliated schools to inform students and their parents about this change in a timely manner. The board has assured that a revised date sheet will be released soon, which will contain complete details of the new examination dates. Moreover, the changed dates will also be updated on the students' admit cards.
Board exams to be held in a single shift
According to the board's final plan, the Class 10th and 12th board examinations will be conducted in a single shift. The examination for most subjects will be held from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM.
However, there has been a slight change in the examination time for some selected subjects, whose exams will be conducted from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM.
When will the exams be held?
CBSE has clarified that the examinations for all other subjects will be held according to the previously scheduled timetable. Only the dates for these few subjects have been changed. The CBSE Class 10 and 12 board exams will be held from February to April. Some Class 10 papers will now be held on March 11, and the Class 12 Legal Studies exam will be held on April 10. The remaining exams will be conducted according to the original schedule. Admit cards can be downloaded from the CBSE website by entering your roll number, etc.
How to download your admit card:
Step 1: Go to the official CBSE website.
Step 2: Click on the “Admit Card” link on the homepage.
Step 3: Enter your roll number, school number, and date of birth.
Step 4: Click on Submit.
Step 5: The admit card will appear on the screen; download it and take a printout.
