The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) released the results for the Class 10 Board Examinations yesterday, April 15. In this examination cycle (CBSE 10th Exam 2026), Hitisha Sogani, a resident of Delhi, emerged as the topper by securing an aggregate score of 98.4 percent.

However, there are some students who appeared for the exam who are not satisfied with their total marks and wish to improve their scores. Additionally, some students have received a 'compartment' (supplementary requirement) in one or two subjects. In light of this, the CBSE will soon conduct a second Board Examination for these students.

**Board Exams to be Held Twice a Year Now**

According to the new CBSE regulations, the Class 10 Board Examinations will now be conducted twice annually. This initiative could prove to be a boon for students who are dissatisfied with their initial scores and wish to appear for the exam again to improve their marks. Furthermore, this second Board Examination will also be beneficial for students who have received a compartment in one or two subjects.

**When Will the 2nd Board Exam Take Place?**

The CBSE has not yet officially announced a specific date for the second Board Examination. However, according to various media reports, the CBSE is expected to conduct the second Board Exam in the month of May. Subsequently, the results for this examination are likely to be released in June.

**For How Many Subjects Can Students Appear?**

Students who have been declared successful in the CBSE Board Examinations but are not satisfied with their aggregate scores can appear for the second Board Examination to improve their marks. In this second examination, students are permitted to retake the exam for a maximum of three subjects. Additionally, candidates who have received a compartment in one or two subjects will also be granted a second opportunity to clear those subjects under the framework of this supplementary Board Examination.
